What is LiST (Shockwave Therapy)?

Low-intensity Shockwave therapy (LiST) for ED, also referred to as Shockwave Therapy, is a new, non-invasive treatment approach for patients suffering from ED.

Shockwave has been shown to be effective in men with mild/moderate ED (between 17-25 on the Index of Erectile Function, or IIEF-EF, scale) without a history of prostatectomy, radiation, or other major anatomic abnormality.

An increase of 4-8 points on the IIEF-EF scale has been observed in erectile quality. And one study reported 95% of participants achieved better erections after only one session per week for six weeks.

How Does Shockwave Therapy Work?

Acoustic waves are generated and delivered directly to the penis to repair damaged blood vessels and stimulate the generation of new vessels (angiogenesis). This resulting improvement to blood flow makes it easier to attain and maintain an erection sufficient for sex.

Combination Therapies

Combining shockwave therapy with other treatments for ED can improve the outcome. Defy Medical offers several options to successfully treat erectile dysfunction and sexual dysfunction in men.

Patients not taking testosterone therapy will be given a blood test to determine if testosterone levels are too low. Testosterone Replacement Therapy may be prescribed if low testosterone is diagnosed.

Researchers and patients have reported that adding PDE5 in the form of a daily tadalafil dose (Cialis) enhances the effects and long-term outcome of Shockwave treatments.

Injection therapy can be an effective treatment for ED for men who do not respond to oral therapy.

Ask about adding PRP (platelet rich plasma) therapy for enhanced and long-lasting results.
