Do you have Low T?
Low T ADAM Questionnaire

Wondering if you might have low testosterone?  Blood testing is the definitive way to diagnose hypogonadism or low T. However, a clinical questionnaire called the A.D.A.M. (Androgen Deficiency in Aging Males) Test was developed as a self-screening tool to help patients determine if they are potential candidates for Testosterone Replacement Therapy.*

Treatment Options

There are many proven delivery methods for Testosterone Replacement Therapy. Defy Medical creates an individualized plan for each patient based on their goals, comfort level with different delivery systems, and hormone levels. Below are some of the options we offer as part of a comprehensive TRT protocol.

Testosterone injection therapy is one of the most effective and widely used delivery systems. Injectable testosterone allows for a timed release and can be easily self-administered using a small subcutaneous or intramuscular needle. Patients typically inject one to two times a week, though it varies by patient.

Testosterone can be applied topically to the skin through a testosterone cream or gel. Topical testosterone is often preferable for patients who want to avoid self-administered injections. Topical application typically remains effective for 24 hours and is applied daily.

For patients who prefer to avoid daily or weekly application and/or injections, pellet therapy can be a good alternative. A sterile pellet about the size of a grain of rice is implanted subcutaneously by a physician at the Defy Medical clinic. The pellet delivers a steady dose of testosterone over a period of three to six months. Defy Medical uses cGMP manufactured pellets stored in glass ampules for container integrity and quality assurance.

Testosterone can be administered to the nasal cavity using a topical gel designed for mucosal absorption. This dosage form provides an injection-free method of administration that requires daily application.

HCG is sometimes co-administered with testosterone to help support fertility and testicular size in men.

FSH is sometimes prescribed to support fertility in men undergoing Testosterone Replacement Therapy.

Because increasing testosterone levels can sometimes also effect estrogen levels, we offer medications for estrogen management as appropriate. Aromatase inhibitors (AI) and Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMS) are two common medications that can help manage estrogen levels in men. These are typically only prescribed as needed based on comprehensive lab results.

Sometimes testosterone can be increased by stimulating the glands responsible for producing other related hormones. A SERM like clomiphene citrate and/or gonadotropin hormones can be prescribed to increase testosterone in men with secondary hypogonadism. They are also prescribed to men discontinuing TRT and can be used as a diagnostic tool to confirm the type of hypogonadism.

Erectile Dysfunction is typically a chief symptom of low testosterone. While bringing testosterone levels up to optimal ranges often eases ED symptoms, Defy Medical also offers a variety of ED medication options to supplement a TRT protocol as necessary. These medications include oral PDE5 inhibitors and penile injections like Trimix, among others.
